Planning continues for our web series ‘Ridgeway’, which follows a Melbourne detective as he uncovers a drug trafficking ring, whilst trying to avoid some pissed off bikies and a persistent VicPol detective. It is inevitable that a story of this nature is going to include guns at some point, which it does.
Weapons
We’re not going to be spending the money to hire an armourer and official gun props for Ridgeway, opting instead for metallic-finish plastic guns and some smart masking in post. This decision is only reinforced by the news out of Queensland of a gun death on the set of a music video.
Safety on set was also called into question on ‘Midnight Rider’ back in 2014, when Sarah Jones was killed when adequate precautions were not taken during production.
